The Remedy: Queer Joy is Resistance

June 18, 2025 5:30pm - June 18, 2025 9pm

The Importance of Celebration, Community, and Allyship.

This month’s session centers on how the queer community crafts joyful experiences to defy narratives meant to suppress or silence. We’ll explore the radical act of embracing joy as a form of protest and survival, discuss the role of allyship, and reaffirm how joy is at the heart of Pride.

Together, we’ll reflect on how reclaiming joy strengthens our communities, builds bridges across identities, and reminds us that thriving is a form of resistance. Joy is a radical act in a world that often asks queer individuals to shrink, conform, or justify their existence. This conversation will explore how celebration, community, and allyship have been essential to queer fortitude, healing, and empowerment.

Our panelists will share personal stories of how they have found and nurtured joy, whether through chosen family, moments of self-acceptance, or spaces where they can fully be themselves. They’ll discuss how joy isn’t just a feeling but a form of resistance against oppression, shame, and erasure.

This dialogue will provide insight into the transformative power of queer joy, how to cultivate it in everyday life, and the role of allies in fostering spaces where joy can thrive. Whether you're seeking inspiration, guidance, or a deeper understanding of the importance of celebration, this conversation will offer a heartfelt and uplifting perspective on what it means to thrive unapologetically.
